Waste collections affected by COVID-19
Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we are taking action to protect our most vulnerable staff and make arrangements to continue to serve the district.
This means we are beginning see a shortage of staff in some areas and we must prioritise. For that reason all our eight Household Waste Recycling Centres have been closed today and will remain so until further notice.
Our bulk waste collection will run for pre-arranged collections until Friday, 27 March and then be suspended.
As far as bin collections are concerned, please put your recycling or household waste bin out as usual this week and it should be collected as usual.
If you subscribe to the garden waste service please put your garden waste bin out as usual. If you garden waste bin does not get collected when it is due, please leave it out and we will pick it up as soon as we can.
Cllr Sarah Ferriby, Executive Member for Health People and Places, said: “We are having to do all we can to prioritise essential services and our heroic front line staff are working as hard as possible to keep the district moving through this difficult time.”
