Jeanette has an excellent record speaking up for people across Bradford.
Jeanette lives in Bradford East with her husband Andrew. Jeanette originally trained as a nurse, and then worked in import and export customer services in the chemical manufacturing industry. She currently works in training and development in the public sector.
Jeanette has a first class honours degree in Social Psychology. Jeanette is a Trustee of a Youth Centre on Thorpe Edge and is part of a group organising fundraising events to support the Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford. In January she is taking part in a sponsored trek in Nepal.
Jeanette has a strong record of community action. She started by leading a campaign against unfair charges which led to her becoming elected as a Councillor representing Idle & Thackley ward. Jeanette currently leads the Liberal Democrat Group on Bradford Council.
Jeanette is a passionate advocate for ensuring that every child can get on in life. Over the past few years, Jeanette has volunteered at a Summer Camp for children making the transition from primary to secondary school. She has raised almost a quarter of a million pounds to ensure the project continues for the next three years.
Jeanette is currently campaigning to see the ramaining green spaces around Eccleshill, Esholt, Thackley and Apperley Bridge owned by the Council and Yorkshire Water turned into a Country Park, ensuring the future of our woodlands for the benefit of people and the environment.
