Say No to Car Parking Charges at Killinghall Road Car Park

We, the undersigned, strongly object to the introduction of parking charges at the Killinghall Road Car Park, adjacent to St Andrew’s Church in Undercliffe. After years of neglecting this facility, it is deeply concerning that the Labour-run Council is now proposing to impose charges. These plans will have a damaging impact on the local community and economy. In particular: 1. Independent businesses in the area will suffer as fewer customers will be willing to pay to park. 2. Road safety will be compromised as more vehicles will seek free on-street parking, increasing congestion and risk at busy junctions. 3. Community groups and church users who rely on free parking throughout the week will be unfairly penalized. 4. The proposed charges will deter visitors, reduce footfall, and harm the vibrancy and accessibility of Undercliffe. We urge the Council to abandon these plans and instead support our local businesses, community groups, and residents by keeping the Killinghall Road Car Park free to use.
