No to Closure of Yorkshire Bank in Idle

On the 5th March the Yorkshire Bank announced that they are closing the branch at 3 The Green, Idle on 11th June 2018. They say that local people can use the banks at Shipley, Bradford, Horsforth or Bramley, bank on-line or go to the Post Office instead.

The Yorkshire Bank says they have considered a number of different things including the needs of local customers, including vulnerable groups and business customers, to see how they will be able to continue to access banking facilities after the Yorkshire Bank has closed.

Our view is that the local Post Office is already very busy with long queues, it is not easy for people to get into if they have a disability and people with prams or pushchairs sometimes have to leave them outside on a very, very narrow pavement close to traffic. People who use a wheelchair are not able to get in. Local business owners have told us they shouldn't have to travel to another town with large amounts of cash every day.
